The AB 92 is an innovative, no-compromise approach to create the highest level in music reproduction.
Its “hearts” are ultrathin diaphragms that carry pure silver conductor tracks. Silver clearly conductivity and specific
weight are taken into account. Including these tracks this membrane has a thickness of 1.2 µm only, a hair in comparison measures is~ 50 µm. The diameter of the planar transducer is 92 mm, so it is AB 92.
We designed shells and yokes milled from high quality Aluminum that will stand the test of time. Both the shells and the yokes are nickel -and chrome plated and will keep their appearance for decades to come. They are a
very solid base for the emitted sound waves, thus avoiding sound colorations.
To get the best spatial impression we studied the corres-
ponding influence of the shells together with the attached cushions. We found a spacious geometry that delivers superb results insofar, you will hear a very “roomy” Stereo reproduction from the AB 92 headphones.
Another important aspect was to have no obstacles for the sound that is emitted from the backside, it just may disappear without reflections. A look at the AB 92 backsides makes this design goal evident, and so AB
means AirBorne.
